The longest timber piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere (1.8km). Walk or ride the train to the underwater observatory at the end — one of only 6 in the world. Spectacular.

Margaret River Town

Margaret River town itself is about a 25 minute drive from the house and well worth a visit. The main street is lined with boutique shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants. It has a relaxed, artistic vibe that's a world away from city life.
The town is the perfect base for a day of exploring. Browse the local bookshop, pick up some artisan cheese, grab a coffee at one of the excellent cafes, and wander through the weekend farmers' market if the timing works out. There's also a beautiful river walk that runs right through town — perfect for stretching the legs with the kids.
And just 10 minutes west of town you'll find Surfers Point at Prevelly — the famous surf break that hosts the annual WSL Margaret River Pro. Even if nobody surfs, watching the waves crash against the reef from the clifftop lookout is an experience in itself.
